You'll also need a digital drawing device, either a tablet or pen display unless you are confident drawing with a you cel shade, soft shade, or find a happy medium with both methods, the most important step is planning where the light sources will be in your illustration. The type of software you're going to want to choose is going to be dependent on the type of artwork you're looking to create, as well as your budget.
